Three Residents' Houses in Jaktim Ludes Burned due to Gas Cylinder Leaking While Cooking Lontong

Firefighters were deployed to put out fires in three houses in East Jakarta due to a gas cylinder leak (special doc).

JAKARTA - A total of three rented houses on a plot located on Jalan Pisangan Lama, RT 05/02, Pisangan Timur Village, Pulogadung District, East Jakarta, were hit by a fire on Saturday, March 7, 2026, afternoon WIB.

The fire burned four houses belonging to residents who were adjacent. The location of the fire is in a densely populated residential area.

"The object is a three-door rented house of 60 square meters. The house is inhabited by four families consisting of 15 people," said Kasiop Sudin Gulkarmat East Jakarta, Abdul Wahid.

Meanwhile, nine fire trucks were deployed to the location to carry out the fire extinguishing process. At least 45 personnel were deployed.

"The suspected cause of the fire was due to a gas leak when one of the residents was cooking lontong," he said.

The gas leak then caught fire, causing a major fire.

"The fire was successfully localized at 13.53 WIB and the extinguishing operation was completed at 14.20 WIB," he said.

There were no casualties or injuries due to the fire. Meanwhile, the case of the fire is under investigation by the Pulogadung Police.
