National Nutrition Agency Denies MBG Issue Stopped After Eid 2026

JAKARTA - The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) has denied the issue that says the free nutritious meal program (MBG) will be stopped after Eid al-Fitr or Lebaran 2026. Instead, the program is guaranteed to continue and even expanded after Lebaran.

Head of the National Nutrition Agency, Dadan Hindayana, emphasized that there was never a policy or direction to stop the MBG program after Eid al-Fitr. He emphasized that the information circulating on a number of digital platforms did not come from official government statements.

"The MBG program will continue after Eid al-Fitr. There are no plans to stop as is circulating," Dadan said in an official statement, quoted on Wednesday, March 4.

According to Dadan, after Idulfitri, the MBG program actually entered a phase of significantly expanding services. The number of nutrition fulfillment service units (SPPG) is targeted to increase to 25,000 units spread across various regions in Indonesia.

"The number of SPPG will reach 25,000 after Eid al-Fitr and will serve more than 61.2 million beneficiaries," he explained.

This expansion is expected to strengthen the reach of nutrition services for the community and increase the impact of the program nationally.

In addition to expanding coverage, BGN ensures that the presentation of MBG is back using fresh menus according to the quality standards and nutrition provisions that have been established. This policy aims to maintain the quality of services while ensuring optimal nutritional intake for beneficiaries.
