BOGOR - Bogor Street Fest Cap Go Meh 2026 Brightens Suryakencana Street in the Middle of Ramadan

This year's celebration feels special because it takes place in conjunction with the atmosphere of the Holy Month of Ramadan. The excitement began at around 21.30 WIB, followed by the appearance of the 50-meter-long Liong Merah Putih and the Kie Lin attraction that mesmerized the audience along the parade route.

BSF CGM 2026 not only showcases Chinese culture, but also becomes a cross-cultural stage of the archipelago. The audience was treated to a mix of qasidah from the BIIFEST Qasidah Team with the typical Minahasa Kabasaran Dance. A number of other regional arts such as Sanggar EDAS, Drumband Canka Lembayung Muda, to the Sisingaan attraction from Subang also enlivened the atmosphere.

The main highlight is the performance of 13 lion and barong dance groups, including Sen Lung, PSLB, and Genta Jaya Lion Dance, which feature acrobatic attractions under the light of the typical lampion of Jalan Suryakencana.

In addition to being a cultural event, this activity also carries a social and economic mission. More than 300 UMKM actors were involved in the event. The committee also presents the "Tempo Doeloe" Night Market which showcases the historical traces of the area, ranging from Empang Mosque to legendary coffee that has been around for more than a century.

Chairman of the BSF CGM 2026 Committee, Arifin Himawan, expressed gratitude for the implementation of activities that combine cultural and religious values. He assessed that the momentum of Cap Go Meh which coincides with Ramadan is a symbol of harmony in Bogor City.

"Thank God today we can gather and join together in the series of Cap Go Meh Festival in 2026. This is an extraordinary thing for us, because we unite two moments in one container, namely cultural events and religious events (Holy Month of Ramadan), which we frame in the theme of togetherness, 'Harmony in Diversity' or Harmony in Religion," said Arifin.

According to him, the committee also adjusted the parade route to honor the solemnity of Ramadan. If in previous years the route reached around 2.2 kilometers, this time the implementation was arranged to remain conducive without reducing the spirit of togetherness.

Social concern is also part of the series of activities. In early March, the committee held a joint fast-breaking for 400 orphans. Furthermore, as many as 200 children with disabilities are scheduled to participate in the "CGM Peduli" activity on March 8.

Arifin, who has been involved for 22 years in the social committee of Cap Go Meh, closed his statement with an invitation to maintain unity.

"My message: we should never compare something different. If it is the same, never be different. Let's build Bogor City together, build a better Indonesia," he said.
