KPK Looking for Other Parties After Arresting Pekalongan Regent Fadia Arafiq

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has revealed that there are other parties being sought after arresting the Regent of Pekalongan Fadia Arafiq through a hand-in-hand operation (OTT) on Tuesday morning. The team is said to still be in the field.

"The team is currently also still searching for other related parties," said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to reporters at the KPK Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Tuesday, March 3.

"And we also appeal to the parties concerned to be cooperative so that they can help in the process of handling this case," he continued.

Currently, the Regent of Pekalongan Fadia Arafiq is undergoing intensive examination at the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta. He was brought along with two others, namely his confidant and aide.

They were arrested by the KPK team in Semarang City, Central Java.

"The suspected criminal act of corruption in this case is related to procurement in the Pekalongan Regency," said Budi.

"Later we will update periodically the progress of the closed investigation activities in the Pekalongan area."

As previously reported, the KPK again carried out a hand-in-hand operation (OTT) and secured the Regent of Pekalongan Fadia A. Rafiq.

After holding an OTT, the KPK has 1x24 hours to examine the parties who have been secured. The announcement of the suspects and the construction of the case will be conveyed through a press conference.
