Official! Government Announces 2026 Eid Homecoming Traffic Rules

JAKARTA - The government officially issued regulations for the 2026 Lebaran homecoming traffic through a Joint Decree (SKB) of the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub), the Ministry of Public Works (PU), and the National Police Traffic Corps (Korlantas).

The rules are contained in the SKB of the Director General of Land Transportation, the Director General of Maritime Transportation, the Director General of Road Construction, and the head of the National Police with Number: KP-DRJD 854 Year 2026, HK.201/1/21/DJPL/2026, Kep/43/II/2026, and 20/KPTS/Db/2026.

This policy was issued to ensure safety, security, order, and the smooth flow of the 2026/1447 Hijriah Eid homecoming and return flow, as well as optimizing vehicle movement on national and toll roads.

The following is the details of the 2026 homecoming traffic engineering:

1. One Way System

Arus Mudik Applies to the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road Km 70 to Semarang-Solo Km 421.

Time: Tuesday (17/3/2026) at 12.00 WIB until Friday (20/3/2026) at 24.00 WIB.

Arus Balik Berlaku from Semarang-Solo Km 421 to Jakarta-Cikampek Km 70.

Time: Monday (23/3/2026) at 12.00 WIB until Sunday (29/3/2026) at 24.00 WIB.

2. Contra Flow System

Contra flow tidal lane engineering is applied on the Jakarta-Cikampek and Jagorawi toll roads.

3. Odd Even System

The exemption applies to ambulances, fire departments, yellow plate public transportation, disabled vehicles, and toll operation vehicles.

4. Operational Restrictions on Goods Transport Restrictions apply to three-axle or more trucks, tandem vehicles, and transport of mining, mining, and building materials.

The time of restriction, namely March 13, 2026 at 12.00 local time until March 29, 2026 at 24.00 local time.

Restrictions are applied on various toll and non-toll roads in Sumatra, Java, Bali, to Central Kalimantan, including the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road, Trans Java, Trans Sumatra, as well as the Pantura and southern routes.

However, this rule does not apply to fuel, BBG, livestock, fertilizer, disaster assistance, and basic commodities. Vehicles must be equipped with official cargo letters and do not violate over dimension over loading (ODOL) provisions.

The government appeals to the public who will travel home for Eid al-Fitr 2026 to monitor the one-way, contra flow, and odd-even schedules to avoid congestion. Official information can be accessed through the Ministry of Transportation and the National Police Traffic Directorate.
