JAKARTA - The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Jakarta expressed its appreciation for the support of the Indonesian government and people as well as the readiness of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto to mediate the conflict between Iran and the United States.
In an official statement released on Sunday (1/3), the Iranian Embassy also asked Indonesian officials to be firm in condemning what it called the aggression of the United States (US) and Israel.
In the statement, Iran accused the two countries of violating the UN Charter, international law, and international humanitarian law.
"Iran's enmity with America is not new, it is rooted in seven decades of Iranian history. American intervention, aggression and enmity against Iran began with the coup of August 19, 1953," the Iranian Embassy said in a statement.
The statement said several violations were committed by the US, including direct attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities in June 2025.
The US and Israel are also suspected of riding on the Iranian people's peaceful protests in January 2026 which led to riots and violence, the Iranian Embassy said.
The peak was the attack on Saturday morning that left Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei dead.
The attack also hit a number of civilian locations, including schools, resulting in casualties, including children.
