Palestine Forms Liaison Office to the Board of Peace, Led by PM Mohammad Mustafa

JAKARTA - The Palestinian Authority has established a liaison office to communicate directly with the Board of Peace (BoP), a step that marks the strengthening of institutional channels amid efforts to promote stability in Gaza and the West Bank. The information was conveyed by Palestinian Vice President Hussein Al-Sheikh in a letter to BoP's High Representative for Gaza, Nickolay Mladenov, Thursday (26/2/2026).

In the letter, as reported on the official website of the Ministry of Religion, Saturday, February 28, Al-Sheikh said the liaison office was directly led by the Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa. "We hereby officially inform you that the Palestinian Authority has established a Liaison Office under the leadership of His Excellency Dr. Mohammad Mustafa, the Palestinian Prime Minister," wrote Al-Sheikh.

He emphasized that the office was ready to work to strengthen coordination. "This office is ready to carry out its responsibilities in coordinating and communicating with your office (the High Representative's Office of the Board of Peace for Gaza)," said Al-Sheikh.

The establishment of the liaison office, said Al-Sheikh, was placed within the framework of support for the political track led by US President Donald Trump to promote stability and peace in Palestine. He also linked this step with the commitment of the Palestinian Authority to implement the 20 points of the Peace Plan, advancing the right to self-determination, and encouraging the realization of an internationally recognized and internationally recognized independent Palestinian state in accordance with UN Security Council Resolution 2803.

Al-Sheikh added that this institutional step is part of a concrete transition to support stability in Gaza and the West Bank with the principle of one system, one law, and one authority. Meanwhile, Indonesia is said to have joined the Board of Peace as part of its commitment to supporting world peace and Palestinian independence.
