Hanif Faisol Nurofiq: There is no region that has won the Adipura 2025 predicate

BANDUNG - Minister of Environment and Forestry Hanif Faisol Nurofiq stated that there was not a single city or district in Indonesia that won the Adipura cup title in 2025 because it had not met the criteria for comprehensive waste management.

Hanif said that a number of areas that were previously touted as having the opportunity to receive the award actually still had sanitation issues that needed to be addressed.

"Surabaya which we are talking about Adipura, once we go to Benowo, the TPS garbage is almost in most of it. Once we leave the city a little dirty it also needs to be repaired. We go to Balikpapan, it turns out that once we leave the protocol road to enter the villages 100 meters, the condition is the same," said Hanif in Bandung, Saturday.

He emphasized that the Adipura assessment not only looked at the cleanliness of the protocol road, but also the condition of the city comprehensively to residential areas.

According to him, every region needs to build a clean living culture and an integrated waste management system if they want to win the Adipura cup.

The central government, he said, will not give awards if the conditions and criteria have not been met.

"If it's just the protocol, everyone can do it. There is no need for Adipura, just sweep the road with the protocol. Comprehensive, not everyone can," he said.

Hanif said that one of the main requirements for achieving Adipura was the absence of open waste disposal and illegal temporary waste disposal (TPS). However, until now, his party still found these two problems in various cities and districts.

In addition, the aspects of budget and policy are also a concern. The central government will evaluate whether the allocation of regional budgets is adequate to handle waste problems, especially in large cities with millions of people.

He added that waste disposal must involve all stakeholders, from local governments, communities, to the private sector.

"If we look at the performance, the garbage in the river is finished, the road is finished, it is 100 percent, all of that is only Adipura. So Adipura must represent the efforts of all stakeholders in the city and district in building good waste management," he said.
