Serving 413 Million Passengers, Transjakarta President Director Emphasizes Safety is Not Just an Operational Target

JAKARTA - President Director of PT Transjakarta Welfizon Yuza emphasized that the safety of Transjakarta bus users must be the basic value in the company's operations, not just an administrative target.

This affirmation was conveyed amid the achievement of 413 million Transjakarta passengers throughout 2025. According to Welfizon, this figure shows the magnitude of the responsibility carried by Transjakarta as one of the largest public transportation ecosystems in Indonesia.

"Safety is not only an operational target. It is our value, culture, and moral responsibility to the community," said Welfizon in Jakarta, quoted Friday, February 27.

He emphasized that the pilot plays a central role because he is the main decision maker in the field. Therefore, honesty is considered to be the key to maintaining safety standards.

Welfizon asked drivers to be honest about their physical condition, vehicle condition, and potential dangers found while on duty.

"Every incident should not stop as a statistic. It must be a trigger for improving processes and strengthening standards that touch the root of the problem," he said.

As part of strengthening the supervision system, Transjakarta launched the Pramudi Hotline. This communication channel allows for real-time reporting of emergency conditions, the delivery of operational constraints and safety issues, and accelerates management responses to situations on the track.

"The presence of this hotline is expected to be able to provide a sense of security and full support for the crew while on duty at the forefront," said Welfizon.

This step is said to be an effort to strengthen the safety culture within the company, as the number of users of the service and public demands for safe and reliable transportation increase.

Previously, PT Transjakarta held a safety appeal for the driver ecosystem involving hundreds of drivers, both drivers owned by Transjakarta and operator partners. This agenda aims to strengthen operational safety commitments, improve human resources professionalism, and strengthen solidarity in the work environment during the holy month of Ramadan.
