JAKARTA - A survey conducted by the Adidaya Institute revealed that Prabowo-Gibran's three flagship government programs, namely the Fishermen's Village, the Red and White Village/Village Cooperative (KDKMP), and 3 Million Houses, have great potential as a new engine of economic growth.
As many as 43 percent of experts assessed that the three programs were able to significantly increase production, absorb labor, and move the money circulation in the region.
This survey involved 72 expert respondents from various professional backgrounds, such as academics, legislators, bureaucrats, business actors, health workers, and activists. The experts are spread across 12 major cities in Indonesia ranging from Medan, Bandar Lampung, Jakarta, Bandung, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Denpasar, Samarinda, Banjarmasin, Makassar, Manado to Ternate.
Adidaya Institute economist, Bramastyo B. Prastowo, explained that this survey aims to map the priorities of the eight flagship programs of Prabowo-Gibran and classify these programs into three categories: Anchor, Engine, and Stabilizer.
"The goal is to determine the main priorities for President Prabowo in implementing the 8 flagship programs (Big Bang and Big Push). So that the public also understands which ones are in the 'anchor' group to strengthen legitimacy, which ones are in the 'engine' group to encourage growth, and which ones are in the 'stabilitator' group to build balance in society," explained Bram at a press conference Wednesday, February 25.
In the survey, as many as 23.30 percent of experts assessed the Merdeka Palestine support program as an anchor program because it is a legacy and political commitment that binds the moral unity of the Indonesian people. Meanwhile, the People's School program, Free Health Checks, Food Granaries, and Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) are categorized as social stabilizers that maintain community balance during economic growth.
Bram emphasized that if the engine of growth program is run optimally, production activities will increase with a multiplier effect that accelerates economic growth.
"For example, in the 3 million house program, this program will mobilize the construction industry, building materials, logistics, and MSMEs. Meanwhile, in the Fishing Village and KDKMP programs, village production will grow so that distribution will increase," he said.
"For example, in the 3 million house program, this program will mobilize the construction industry, building materials, logistics, and MSMEs. Meanwhile, in the Fishing Village and KDKMP programs, village production will grow so that distribution will increase," he said.
However, Bram also expressed criticism of the achievement of the 3 million house program which has not shown significant progress and has faced more institutional dynamics issues.
In addition to encouraging growth, social stabilization programs such as People's Schools, Free Health Checks, and Food Storage serve as a buffer for the economic resilience of the community to remain strong during periods of major growth.
"This social stability program must be assessed from its impact, not from its magnitude. If the Big Push is an acceleration machine, then the social stabilizer program is the braking system and its balancer. Without a balancer, the economic growth machine can lose control," said Bram.
Adidaya Institute urges the Prabowo-Gibran government to prioritize these three growth engine programs and evaluate the relevant ministries that have not been able to execute the program to the maximum.
"Big Bang and Big Push can only succeed if the cabinet is filled with delivery leaders and not just communication ministers," concluded Bram. He emphasized that a reshuffle needs to be carried out if the ministry does not produce a real impact on economic growth.
