JAKARTA - The Constitutional Court Honor Assembly (MKMK) will immediately decide on the report of alleged violations of the code of ethics and conduct as well as conflicts of interest of Constitutional Judge Adies Kadir this week.
Chairman of the MKMK I Dewa Gede Palguna explained that his party was holding a meeting of judges (RPH) after the hearing to hear the report and ask for information from the accused held last week.
"We are in the RPH. Later I will inform you, yes (the schedule for the pronouncement of the verdict). Yes, the plan is this week," said Palguna when contacted from Jakarta, Antara, Wednesday, February 25.
Although he has not disclosed the detailed schedule, Palguna has ensured that the trial to pronounce the verdict will be held in public. "The law determines so," he said.
Previously, on Thursday (19/2), the MKMM had asked for information from Adies Kadir who was reported for allegedly violating the code of ethics and being involved in a conflict of interest in his nomination as a constitutional judge proposed by the Indonesian House of Representatives.
To ANTARA, Palguna stated that he could not explain further about the contents of the statement delivered by Adies Kadir and other substances that were investigated by the constitutional judge of the proposed DPR RI.
Adies Kadir's testimony was heard after the Honor Court held a preliminary examination hearing with the agenda of hearing the report's testimony on Thursday (12/2).
Adies Kadir, one of them, was reported by 21 professors, lecturers, to state administrative law practitioners who are members of the Constitutional and Administrative Law Society (CALS).
He was reported because his candidacy as a constitutional judge proposed by the House of Representatives was suspected of violating the code of ethics and guidelines for the behavior of MK judges as well as laws and regulations.
In its report, CALS reasoned that the nomination of Adies Kadir as a constitutional judge to replace Arief Hidayat was inappropriate because it was carried out after Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives chose another candidate, namely Inosentius Samsul.
In addition, CALS also considers Adies Kadir, with his background as a politician, to have a great potential for conflict of interest when trying cases, both testing laws and disputes over election results.
Therefore, CALS through its report asked the MKMK to dismiss Adies Kadir from the position of constitutional judge.
