Minister of Transportation Targets Completion of Damaged Road Repairs H-10 Lebaran

JAKARTA - Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Dudy Purwagandhi said the government targets the repair of damaged roads on the homecoming route, especially those used by two-wheeled vehicles, to be completed at least H-10 Lebaran.

He said that the issue of infrastructure was a serious concern ahead of the homecoming flow, especially the main routes in the Pantura area, the Ministry of Transportation had also coordinated with the Ministry of Public Works regarding infrastructure improvements ahead of the homecoming period.

"We ask that the roads that will be used by travelers using two-wheeled vehicles can be repaired and from PU promises that at least H-10 it will be completed," said Dudy after reviewing UMKM products at Gambir Station, Jakarta, Tuesday, February 24, reported by ANTARA.

Dudy said the government also involved local governments (Pemda) in discussing improvements to infrastructure. However, he understands that there are budget limitations at the regional level.

"We also have to understand the budget conditions of the Regional Government, that is why we are talking not only about the Regional Government but also with the PU Ministry, approximately which is the scale of priority, especially those related to the implementation of Lebaran transportation later," he said.

Dudy ensured that his ministry had prepared various strategies to ensure that the homecoming activity on Lebaran 2026 ran smoothly.

Some of the strategies include recommendations for the implementation of flexible working arrangements (FWA) several days before and after the holiday together, the addition of Java-Sumatera crossing port services, and the preparation of rest areas in coordination with the Ministry of Religion for the use of mosques as a place of rest for travelers.

In addition, Dudy also said that the government is preparing a discount program for train, sea, and plane tickets, as well as toll rate discounts that will be valid on Eid al-Fitr in 2026.

The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) and the ranks of SOEs will also hold a free homecoming program as an effort to reduce the burden of the community while reducing the use of private vehicles during the homecoming period.
