Bus Hits Ojol in Mount Sahari, Here's Transjakarta's Explanation

JAKARTA - PT Transportasi Jakarta or Transjakarta confirmed the accident involving a bus route 10H with an online motorcycle driver (ojol) at the intersection of Jalan Gunung Sahari - Jalan Mangga Besar, Central Jakarta, around 08.50 WIB.

Head of the Transjakarta Public Relations and CSR Department, Ayu Wardhani, said that the fleet involved was a SAF-083 operator bus that was serving customers. The collision occurred when the bus was speeding when the busway traffic light was green.

"At the time of the incident, the bus was speeding according to the green light, but there was contact with the motorcyclist (ojol) who allegedly suddenly turned in the yellow box area," Ayu told reporters, Tuesday, February 24.

The motorcyclist was immediately evacuated after the incident and taken to the nearest hospital for medical treatment.

Meanwhile, all customers on the bus were confirmed to be in good condition. They were immediately transferred to another fleet to continue their journey.

"The bus was in service, all customers were in good condition and were immediately evacuated to another bus. Transjakarta apologizes for the inconvenience of customer travel," said Ayu.

Ayu stated that Transjakarta had coordinated with the police regarding the handling of the incident. Surveillance camera (CCTV) recordings have also been handed over for the purpose of investigation.

"Transjakarta again appeals to all road users to always obey traffic signs for mutual safety," he added.
