JAKARTA - Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei said Iran was drafting a possible deal with the United States (US).

"Currently we are in the stage of formulating our position," Baghaei said at a press conference reported by ANTARA from Sputnik, Monday, February 23.

Baghaei called various reports about Iran-US negotiations as speculation, while saying claims of a temporary deal with Washington "have no factual basis".

The second round of Iran-US nuclear talks took place in Geneva on February 17 with Oman mediating.

After the talks, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi announced progress. He also noted that Tehran and Washington would draft a document that could possibly serve as the basis for an agreement.

The next round of US-Iranian talks will be held in Geneva on February 26, said Oman's Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi, as his country plays a role as a mediator in the talks.
