JAKARTA - The PDI Perjuangan (PDIP) faction clarified the issue that was circulating the DPR approving the government's plan to close modern retail or minimarkets for the Red and White Village Cooperative (Kopdes). The plan to close the minimarket emerged because it was considered a rival to Kopdes.

This was conveyed by the Secretary of the F-PDIP DPR, Dolfie O.F.P, in response to the circulation of an issue that said the DPR had approved the proposal of the Minister of Villages and Regional Development (Mendes PDT) Yandri Susanto to stop the expansion of minimarkets for Village Cooperatives. Including the wrong narrative that said the Chairman of the DPR RI Puan Maharani also approved the plan.

"There is no official statement from the Speaker of the House of Representatives regarding the issue of stopping or limiting the expansion of minimarkets in villages as developed in the public space," said Dolfie O.F.P, Monday, February 23.

Dolfie explained that the issue circulating was part of the dynamics of discussion in a working meeting in Commission V of the DPR with Mendes PDT Yandri Susanto some time ago. Commission V of the DPR was also said to have only given an oral response to the issue conveyed by Mendes PDT Yandri.

The meeting in question actually took place in November 2025, where at that time Mendes PDT said that the existence of rampant minimarkets must be stopped for the smooth running of the Red and White Village Cooperative (Kopdes). Dolfie emphasized that even if there was a response from the council members, it was not a decision of the DPR Commission V working meeting.

"The substance circulating is part of the dynamics of discussion in Commission V of the DPR RI, in order to carry out the functions of oversight and absorption of aspirations," said the Deputy Chairman of Commission XI of the DPR.

"In fact, this is not yet a decision of the working meeting of Commission V of the DPR with the Ministry of Villages," continued Dolfie.

Dolfie said that F-PDIP always prioritizes in-depth study of strategic policies concerning business interests, Government programs, and the aspirations of the people. Including in terms of closing minimarkets for the Red and White Village Cooperative.

"The PDI Perjuangan faction believes that every strategic policy that has an impact on business actors, village cooperatives, and the wider community must be accompanied by comprehensive and data-based studies," he explained.

F-PDIP also emphasized that policies must be discussed in depth in the relevant commissions according to the applicable mechanisms.

"As well as thoroughly considering the aspects of regulation, economy, society, and business sustainability," concluded Dolfie.
