DPR Holds Coordination Meeting with the Government, Discusses Progress in Handling Post-disaster in Sumatra

JAKARTA - The DPR RI Post-Disaster Recovery Task Force held a Coordination Meeting with the Government's Post-Disaster Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Acceleration Task Force at the DPR RI Building, Wednesday, February 18.

The meeting was attended by the DPR RI leadership, the leadership of Commission V of the DPR RI, the leadership of Commission VI of the DPR RI, the leadership of Commission VIII of the DPR RI and the leadership of Commission X of the DPR RI together with the Kasatgas/Minister of Home Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Wakasatgas I/Kasum TNI, Wakasatgas II/Head of BNPB, Wakasatgas III/Commander of the Mobile Brigade Corps of the Indonesian National Police, Wakasatgas IV/Head of BPI Danantara, Minister of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia, Minister of Public Works of the Republic of Indonesia, Minister of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, Minister of Housing and Settlements of the Republic of Indonesia, Minister of Basic and Secondary Education of the Republic of Indonesia, Minister of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia, Minister of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia, Minister of UMKM of the Republic of Indonesia, Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia and Head of the Central Statistics Agency of the Republic of Indonesia.

The meeting, which was held in the Loka Library room of the Nusantara IV Building, the Indonesian Parliament Complex, was chaired by the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad. Dasco said that today's meeting was to listen to the progress report of the Post-Disaster Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Task Force for Sumatra as a follow-up to the meeting in Banda Aceh last month.

"Today we are holding an evaluation meeting for handling the aftermath of the Sumatra natural disaster, which we have brought together with the relevant ministers in connection with the evaluation and coordination in connection with the last meeting in Banda Aceh on January 10, 2026," said Dasco.

Where at the evaluation meeting in Aceh, there were several conclusions that were agreed upon by the DPR and the government. First, it is targeted before Ramadan, all wheels of government in Aceh are running.

"We monitor only a few who are stuck in the way," said Dasco.

Then the meeting also discussed the normalization of rivers and isolated areas infrastructure. "We have monitored the isolated areas in Aceh, there are no more, although the terrain is difficult but there are no isolated areas, and the river normalization has been running until now," continued Dasco.

Dasco then invited the Head of the Post-Disaster Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Acceleration Task Force for Sumatra and the Minister of Home Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Tito Karnavian, to present his report on the development of the condition and work of the task force in Sumatra.

"Then we will hear today, how far the work progress is and environmental cleaning," said Dasco.
