JAKARTA - The IX/Udayana Military Regional Command denied the incident of rejection of patients participating in the Health Social Security Organizing Agency (BPJS) at the Army Hospital (RSAD) Level IV/Bima, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).
"It is not true if it is said that there is a patient rejection because the patient has received medical treatment since the beginning of arrival," said Head of Information Kodam IX/Udayana Colonel Infantry Widi Rahman in Denpasar, Monday, quoted by Antara,
He said the viral video that circulated widely on social media accusing the rejection of services to patients at the Bima RSAD was recorded with a narrative that did not match the reality on the ground.
Widi explained, based on information from the Head of the Army Hospital Tk IV/Bima, the incident began on Friday, February 13, 2026, at around 21.40 Wita, when a 2-year-old child patient named Abidzar Al Fattah came to the Emergency Department (IGD) with complaints of fever, nausea, and vomiting.
The patient was accompanied by family members with someone claiming to be from an NGO using a village ambulance and a private vehicle.
Upon arrival at the Emergency Room, the patient immediately received an initial examination by nurses and duty doctors according to the applicable medical procedures.
"However, during the service process, the situation was less conducive because there were NGOs who came with emotional attitudes, scolding officers, and making a commotion in the emergency room while medical personnel were treating other patients, including heart patients and children who were under observation," said Widi.
Furthermore, to maintain the order of medical services, he said, the duty doctor then directed the party together with the patient's family to the registration section to continue the administration of services.
From the results of the administrative check, it was found that the patient had not been registered as a BPJS Health participant.
The officer then explained that the patient could still be handled with the status of a general patient while suggesting that the family take care of BPJS Health membership.
However, before the education was completed, the NGO showed again a non-cooperative attitude, angry, hitting the table, threatening to go viral in the hospital, and recording videos in the service area.
Kapendam emphasized that RSAD Bima never refused patients.
This is evidenced by the initial examination action that has been carried out by medical personnel to the patient.
The hospital has also provided education to the patient's family regarding administrative procedures and health insurance management solutions as long as the patient continues to receive medical treatment.
"TNI hospitals, including Rumkit Tk IV/Bima, are always committed to providing health services to the community in accordance with applicable regulations," he said.
Widi Rahman said based on CCTV footage of the hospital, the party who claimed to be from the NGO was indeed behaving unfavorably towards health workers.
It is even known that the person concerned has also made a fuss several times in the Bima RSAD environment.
In addition, the information obtained stated that before coming to Bima RSAD, the patient had also visited other health facilities, but was hampered by health insurance administration and the availability of treatment rooms.
Kapendam appealed to the public not to be easily provoked by information circulating on social media without knowing the actual facts.
He also invited all parties to respect health workers who are carrying out humanitarian duties, as well as prioritizing good communication for the benefit of patient services.
"We hope that the public can understand the actual situation and not spread unverified information. Kodam IX/Udayana remains committed to providing the best service to the community," he said.
