JAKARTA - Defense ministers from 32 NATO member countries will meet at the alliance's headquarters in Brussels on Thursday to discuss collective security and ways to strengthen NATO's position in the Arctic.

The ministers will follow up on decisions made at last year's NATO summit in The Hague in preparation for the upcoming summit, which will be hosted by Turkey in Ankara in July.

Reported by ANTARA from Sputnik, Thursday, February 12, the agenda of the meeting is expected to cover various issues, including NATO assistance to Ukraine, new defense spending commitments, and deterrence, including the newly formed NATO Arctic Sentry mission.

The ministers will also attend a NATO-Ukraine Council alongside Ukraine's new defense minister, Mykhailo Fedorov, who is joining the alliance for the first time.

After that, they will attend a meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group led by Britain and Germany.
