JAKARTA - The Indonesian National Army (TNI) Army (AD) stated that it was ready to facilitate the education of the reserve component for 4,000 state civil servants (ASN) initiated by the Ministry of Defense (Moeldoko).
The statement was made by the Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Army (KSAD) General TNI Maruli Simanjuntak when he was met in Jakarta, Wednesday, when asked about the involvement of the Indonesian Army in komcad education for ASN.
"So if what we have later is a clue, how do we prepare as much as possible what we can. So it's the one that has the most facilities for training, I think the Army," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, February 11.
KSAD said that further technicalities regarding this matter are awaiting policy from the TNI Headquarters, considering that the implementation will involve all branches.
"I think this policy is from the TNI Headquarters. Maybe more details will be asked to the TNI Headquarters. This planning will certainly be implemented by the Army, Navy, and Air Force," he said.
Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of Defense Donny Ermawan Taufanto said that the basic education of the reserve component or komcad for 4,000 ASN would likely begin in April 2026.
"Maybe later at the end of next month. April will probably start later," he said, answering a reporter's question on Tuesday, February 10.
He said that as many as 4,000 ASN who were trained to become komcad would be taken from all existing ministries and institutions. Later, the names of the ASN in question will be submitted by the ministry/institution.
"Later we will select, [if] it meets the requirements, we will start the program," he said.
According to him, this program is part of the Indonesian defense system, namely all components of the nation are involved in defending the country.
He also ensured that this program did not overlap with the duties of ASN.
"I think this will be in line with their duties in the ASN, yes. This is only about two months they get this komcad training. After that, they will return to carrying out their duties as ASN. So, there is no obstacle or conflict from their duties later," he said.
Previously, Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin said that a total of 4,000 ASN ministries and agencies in Jakarta would be included in the komcad in the first semester of this year.
He explained that ASN was included as a komcad to foster the spirit of nationalism and love of the country in serving the country. Later, ASN aged 18 to 35 years will be included in various basic military training.
