JAKARTA - Cabinet Secretary (Seskab) Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that the government officially launched the I quarter economic stimulus program to facilitate community mobilization and maintain purchasing power.
"This program includes transportation discounts, work from anywhere schemes, and the distribution of food assistance so that mobility is smoother and travel costs are more economical," said Teddy as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, February 10.
In terms of transportation discounts, the government provides a 30 percent discount for trains, sea vessels (Pelni) for the period of 14-29 March 2026, a 17-18 percent discount for economy class aircraft in the same period. In addition, the government provides a 100 percent discount for port services on 12-31 March 2026.
For the work from anywhere (WFaA) scheme, it can be carried out on March 16-17, and March 25-27, 2026. The implementation of WFA is expected to reduce travel density, facilitate homecoming planning, and work activities continue.
In terms of food assistance, the government provided 10 kilograms of rice and two liters of cooking oil, for two months at once to 35,04 families of beneficiaries.
"Through this policy, the public can plan for homecoming more flexibly, while economic and tourism activities continue to move. Food assistance is also provided to keep basic needs affordable for millions of families," said Teddy.
He hopes that this economic stimulus can be felt more by the community in welcoming Eid al-Fitr, while maintaining the national economy strong and people's welfare increasingly protected.
