Mataram - The Mataram City Government (Pemkot), West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province, will soon have a central Public Cemetery (TPU) and will be the largest cemetery in the region.
Head of the Mataram City Housing and Residential Area Service (Disperkim) M Nazarudin Fikri said the project will be the largest TPU in NTB with a land area of more than 1.5 hectares.
"The construction of the cemetery is an answer to the full start of several public cemeteries in the heart of the city, such as the Karang Medain Cemetery," he said in Mataram, Monday, quoted by Antara.
According to him, the construction of the central TPU has now reached 80 percent and 20 percent is land arrangement work with a total arrangement budget of around Rp700 million.

Responding to a question about whether it was intended for Mataram citizens with KTP in general or there were special criteria, Nazarudin said the TPU was prepared as a solution because the old tombs were full.
