Prabowo Appreciates Clean-up 'Korve' Action in Jakarta, Bali, West Java

JAKARTA - Prabowo Subianto appreciates a number of regions, such as Jakarta, Bali, and West Java, which have taken concrete steps to clean the environment.

Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, after attending the TNI-Polri Leadership Meeting, at the Presidential Palace complex, Jakarta, appealed to regional heads to follow up on instructions related to environmental cleanliness.

"I will issue a circular as not only a sports day, but also continue with korve in their respective areas, both in their office environment and in their local areas," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, February 9.

At the order of the President through the Minister of State Secretary, the Ministry of Home Affairs will inventory the areas that have and have not carried out the cleanliness program.

Through a simultaneous clean-up movement involving the provincial government to the village, Tito hopes that a cleaner and organized environment will be created, so as to support the quality of life of the community and national development.

The term korve was shouted by President Prabowo Subianto when discussing waste management in a briefing at the 2026 National Coordination Meeting (Rakornas) of the Central and Regional Governments at the Sentul International Convention Center (SICC) in Bogor Regency, West Java, Monday (2/2).

The term korve is commonly used in the military, police, and institutions such as IPDN to maintain the cleanliness of shared facilities, discipline, and cooperation.

Korve is a volunteer activity, mutual aid, or additional task to clean and tidy the environment together.

The term korve was mentioned by Prabowo not only once, but several times in the agenda of the 2026 Regional Head Rakornas.

In his briefing, the Head of State touched on the issue of garbage which can disrupt the tourism sector in Indonesia which has been one of the largest job absorbers.
