JAKARTA - PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) is preparing the Jakarta Manggarai LRT Station as a transit-oriented area or transit oriented development (TOD). This station will be the final station of the Jakarta LRT Phase 1B development project as well as an integration node for a number of major transportation modes in Jakarta.

Jakpro's Director of Engineering and Development, Dian Takdir, said that the Manggarai LRT Station in Jakarta was designed to be directly connected to the Commuter Line, Airport Train, and TransJakarta services. This integration is intended to facilitate intermodal transfers while increasing the efficiency of people's travel.

As part of the development of the Manggarai TOD area, Jakpro has been exploring cooperation with PT Pasaraya Tosersajaya since December 2025. The exploration is still in the early stages, including inventory of potential areas, preparation of studies, to formulation of the most optimal cooperation scheme.

This step is in line with the direction of Manggarai development which not only focuses on the development of transportation infrastructure, but also the arrangement of the area in an integrated manner. Jakpro targets the Manggarai TOD area to be able to encourage local economic activities without shifting the social character of the local community.

"Through this intermodal integration, we hope that people's mobility will be easier and at the same time be able to encourage increased activity and economic value for residents of Manggarai and its surroundings," said Dian in his statement, Monday, December 9.

According to Dian, the presence of the Manggarai LRT Station in Jakarta is expected to have a direct impact on residents around, both in terms of accessibility and economic opportunities. A better transportation access is believed to open up new business opportunities, increase productivity, and strengthen the economic value of the area.

"In line with the development policy under the leadership of the Governor of DKI Jakarta Pramono Anung, the development of the Manggarai LRT Station in Jakarta is part of efforts to realize Jakarta as a global city that is connected, sustainable, and inclusive, and to support the equitable distribution of development benefits for the community," he said.

In addition to supporting urban mobility, the operation of the Jakarta LRT using electricity is also claimed to contribute to the decarbonization agenda. Cumulatively, the operation of the Jakarta LRT Phase 1A and 1B is projected to be able to reduce emissions by 2,927,250 tons of CO₂e through the shift from the use of private vehicles to public transportation.
