Vice President Gibran Praises Yusril Ihza Mahendra as a Multi-talented Figure

JAKARTA - Vice President (Wapres) Gibran Rakabuming Raka said Yusril Ihza Mahendra, who is currently serving as the Minister of Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Corrections (Kumham Imipas), is a versatile figure.

"For me, Prof. Yusril is a versatile figure. His steps in various fields, both religious, legal, state administration, and politics," he said at the Launch of 8 Books of the Track Record of 70 Years of Prof. Dr. Yusril Ihza Mahendradi Jakarta, Saturday, February 7.

Gibran said that as a young person, he would learn a lot from Yusril's experiences.

The Deputy Head of State said Yusril was a figure who had a lot of experience in the field of government by holding ministerial positions in various presidential eras.

"The Minister of Law and Legislation, the Minister of Justice and Human Rights in the era of President Gus Dur (Abdurrahman Wahid) and President Megawati. The Minister of State Secretary in the era of President SBY (Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono). The Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Corrections in the era of President Prabowo. So, whoever the President is, the minister is Professor Yusril," he said.

"Long service in the government," he said, "shows that Yusril is a figure who has integrity and loyalty to the country.

"It's not just about the position, but a continuous service. A regime crossing that can only be done by someone who has integrity, clarity of thinking, and loyalty to the country, not to momentary power," he said.

In the future, he hopes that Yusril will continue to inspire and provide an example, especially for the younger generation.

It is known that Yusril Ihza Mahendra officially launched eight books on Saturday to mark seven decades of life's journey and contributions to the country.
