Minister of Home Affairs: TKD Provinces Affected by the Sumatra Disaster Are Not Efficient

JAKARTA - The Central Government is committed to providing full transfer funds to the affected three provinces, namely Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.

This statement was confirmed by Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian at the Inauguration of the Temporary Housing and Antara in the Disaster-Affected Region in South Tapanuli, North Sumatra, Thursday, February 5.

"The budget for regional financial transfers was returned as in the previous year, which means it has increased," said Tito, quoted by ANTARA from a written statement from the Government Communication Agency (Bakom).

Tito, as Head of the Post-disaster Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Acceleration Task Force, reported to President Prabowo Subianto that this TKD fund could be realized as soon as possible to the affected areas.

Tito detailed that Aceh received an additional TKD for the 2026 fiscal year of Rp. 1.6 trillion. As much as Rp. 800 billion can be used for the provincial government. Another Rp. 800 billion is divided into 23 regencies/cities.

For North Sumatra, the additional TKD is IDR 6.3 trillion. As much as IDR 1.2 trillion for provincial needs. And the rest for 33 regencies/cities.

And for West Sumatra, the government has budgeted an additional TKD of Rp. 2.6 trillion. The provincial government will receive around Rp. 500 billion. The rest is disbursed to 19 regencies/cities.

"Give super priority to the areas that we consider attention (need). That is, as quickly as possible," said Tito.

For areas that are close to normal, continued Tito, they can be given further or in the next two or four weeks.

Most importantly, he continued, the regional government holds the Minister of Finance Regulation as the basis for the disbursement of these funds. After that, the Ministry of Home Affairs will issue its technical instructions.
