JAKARTA - BTN continues to strive to be able to support the financing of low-emission houses up to 20,000 units by 2026 and increase the share of sustainable financing as a form of commitment in implementing environmentally friendly banking practices or green banking to support future business growth and reduce carbon emissions that have an impact on climate change.
BTN has disbursed financing to build 11,000 low-emission houses by various developers in various regions, such as Legok Banten, Cileungsi Regency, Bogor, Medan, Semarang, Cirebon, and Bekasi.
"Hopefully, this year can reach 20,000 low-emission houses, if it can be 30,000. Until 2029, hopefully we want to build 150,000 units and by 2030 we hope 200,000," said BTN Risk Management Director Setiyo Wibowo through a written statement received by the VOI editorial staff on Thursday, February 5.
On the occasion, Wednesday, February 4, Setiyo Wibowo also directly reviewed the low-emission house at the Mutiara Gading City Housing, Bekasi, West Java.
BTN first launched the Low Emission House Program in the fourth quarter of 2024 with a number of developers with a target of building 1,000 units of low emission houses in three months which was finally achieved.
The program has been running for two years and has received support from several strategic partners who produce environmentally friendly building materials from various plastics that are no longer valuable.
One of the efforts made by BTN to find new potential startups is through the annual BTN Housingpreneur competition which has produced many innovations to support the housing sector.
BTN has also produced new innovators through BTN Housingpreneur 2025 which was just closed on January 31, 2026 with a total of 1,170 submissions during the event.
The event produced 26 winners from a total of 58 finalists who passed the strict selection by the Jury Board which came from housing industry players, academics, architects, and BTN management.
