KPK Spokesperson Error: Former Pertamina Director General Elia Massa Manik Not Called in the PGN Case Today

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has canceled the schedule for today's examination, February 3. Elia Massa Manik and five other witnesses were not called in connection with the alleged corruption in the gas trading cooperation between PT Perusahaan Gas Negara, Tbk (PGN) and PT Inti Alasindo Energi (IAE) today.

"I apologize for the error in the schedule for examining witnesses at the investigation stage that was previously shared this morning, Tuesday, February 3," said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to reporters through his written statement, Tuesday, February 3.

Budi did not elaborate on the reason for the error in the schedule of the examination. He only reasoned that the witness who was said to have been examined today should have been examined on Wednesday, February 4.

"We correct it in the form of an update to the examination material for today," he continued.

Instead of examining Elia, the KPK scheduled Weny Ayu Hapsari as Legal Contract Advisor, Legal Division of PT. PGN (Persero) Tbk. (2017-2019); Yosephine Ina Sabrina as Senior Analyst License and Permit and also the Head Directorate of PT PGN period 2017-2020; Agus Cahyono Adi as Director of Oil and Gas Program Development of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources since 2014-2016 to be questioned.

Then, the KPK also scheduled an examination of Arief Budiman who was the Financial Director of PT Pertamina from November 2014 to September 2018; DR Aloysius K. RO as Deputy for Restructuring and Business Development 2015-2019; and Edwin Hidayat Abdullah as Deputy for Energy Business, Logistics, Regions and Tourism Ministry of SOEs 2015-2019.

As for Monday, February 2, the KPK also summoned six witnesses from PT PGN and the private sector. However, there were two witnesses who did not attend, namely Suko Hartono who served as the main director for the 2020-2021 period and Syahril Malik who was an employee.

Meanwhile, those present were Septiawan Sudharmadi as Director of PT Post Energy (Sadikun Group) in 2017; Srri Nanda Parwati as Group Head of Business and Technology Development of PT PGN in 2016-2018; Sunanto who is the Head of Division, Government Community Relations of PT PGN; Suseno as Division Head of Strategic Management, Strategic Management and Transformation of PT PGN in 2017-2019.

From the examination, they were investigated about the sale and purchase of gas between PT PGN and PT IAE. "Witnesses are present," said Budi in a separate opportunity.

"(Examination, ed) continues regarding the stages of the gas purchase and sale agreement between PT PGN and PT IAE, as well as the acquisition plan of PT IAE/ISARGAS GROUP by PT PGN."
