TANGERANG SOUTH - Trade activities in the Cipadu Tax Complex, Pondok Aren, South Tangerang, were temporarily paralyzed after a massive fire hit the area on Thursday, December 25, 2025.

The fire burned at least eight semi-permanent buildings and triggered panic among residents and traders around the location.

Based on information in the field, the fire was allegedly caused by a gasoline leak from one of the Madura stalls. The fire started around 14.00 WIB and quickly spread to other buildings nearby.

Bintaro Fire Department officers were immediately deployed to the location to carry out the fire. By deploying two fire trucks and assisted by residents, officers struggled to tame the fire so that it did not spread to residential areas and the electricity network.

About an hour later, the fire was extinguished at 15.00 WIB. However, a number of buildings in the area could not be saved.

"When we arrived at the location, there were already four buildings on fire and the fire began to spread to the power lines," said one of the Bintaro firefighters at the scene.

This fire also threatens the livelihoods of small traders. Bayu, a Solo tea ice seller who used to hang out around the location, admitted that his stall almost burned down.

"Almost my business is over, Mas. Fortunately, only the top banner was hit," he said.

In addition to firefighters, PLN and Telkom were also deployed to the location to secure the affected electricity and telecommunications networks. This step is taken to prevent potential further dangers after the fire.

In the incident, no casualties or casualties were reported. However, the material losses due to the fire are still being dataed by the parties concerned.
