JAKARTA - The government continues to accelerate the construction of temporary housing (huntara) for people affected by flash floods and landslides in Aceh, which is carried out in a number of areas and supported by TNI personnel.

The report from the Presidential Media Team received by Antara in Jakarta, Sunday, February 1, stated that the acceleration of the development of huntara was carried out in Aceh in line with the establishment of the emergency transition status to recovery with the provision of huntara as an important part in ensuring that the community's housing needs are still met during the recovery period.

As of Sunday, February 1, the construction of the huntara in Langsa City showed significant initial progress. In the Timbang Langsa area, Langsa Baro District, as well as the huntara location in Batee Puteh and Cinta Raja, it was seen that the foundation piles of the temporary housing had been installed as the initial structure of the building.

Meanwhile, the progress of the huntara construction in Gayo Lues Regency has also continued to show progress. Land for the construction of huntara has been provided in two villages, namely in Seneren Village, Pantan Cuaca District and in Pining Village, Pining District.

Meanwhile, in Kuning Kurnia Village, Pantan Cuaca District, the huntara building has been standing and is almost complete, with the remaining work being the installation of building elements, such as doors and windows.

Similar conditions were also seen in Rigeb Village, Dabun Gelang District and in Ramung Musara Village, Putri Betung District where most of the building foundations had been installed and the huntara unit was almost ready to be inhabited. In Remukut Village, Pantan Cuaca District, the huntara work is still continuing and several units have been seen almost completed.

Support from the police is also continued in the construction of huntara in Aceh. TNI personnel from Yonif TP 855/Raksaka Dharma are still continuing to build huntara in Aih Selah Village, Pantan Cuaca District, as a manifestation of their presence for the community.

The Aceh Provincial Government currently stipulates the status of transition from emergency to disaster recovery which is valid for 90 days, starting from January 30, 2026 to April 29, 2026.

Through the ongoing construction of huntara in various regions, the government is trying to ensure that people affected by disasters in Aceh have a decent and safe temporary shelter, while the medium and long-term recovery process is carried out gradually.
