JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) has confirmed that the flood that submerged part of the Capital City in recent days has receded.
"Data per hour at 08.00 WIB, the flood in DKI Jakarta has receded," said the Head of the BPBD Disaster Data and Information Center, Mohamad Yohan, when confirmed in Jakarta, Sunday.
Data from the DKI Jakarta BPBD recorded that the water level in the late January 2026 flood reached 3.5 meters in several points in East Jakarta due to the overflow of the Ciliwung River.
The flood that had flooded 39 RT on Friday (30/1) was due to heavy rain that hit DKI Jakarta and its surroundings, causing a rise in the water level at several monitoring posts.
Yohan said that thanks to the collaborative efforts of related agencies and has deployed the following personnel with supporting equipment such as portable pumps to suck flood, it has been resolved.
"The role of community elements is also involved in this effort, such as RT/RW, FKDM and other community leaders," he said.
Even though it is confirmed to have receded, the DKI BPBD still appeals to the public to be careful and alert to the potential for flooding.
"In an emergency, immediately call the 112 phone number. This service is free and operates 24 hours non-stop," he added.
