Wamenhaj Reminds Hajj Officers to Serve Not to Be a Hajj

JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah (Wamenhaj) Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak again reminded the function of the Hajj officer is to provide services to the pilgrims, not to participate in the Hajj.

"We want to ensure that the intention of the haji officers is to be haji officers, not people who are going to go on the haj. Because they have been trained for a long time as a team," said Wamenhaj Dahnil in the inauguration of haji officers at the Haji Pondok Gede Dormitory, Jakarta, Friday, January 30, reported by ANTARA.

The Saudi Arabian Hajj Organizing Officers (PPIH) have undergone training and education for 20 days at the Pondok Gede Hajj Dormitory, Jakarta. They will then undergo online training for 10 days.

According to the Minister of Hajj, the profiles of Hajj officers this year are different backgrounds, ranging from doctors, security personnel, journalists, even professors to academics. All of them must be under the same flag, namely as Hajj officers.

They must also abandon any identity attached to them when serving God's guests Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala (SWT). He emphasized that no special treatment was given, everything was equal.

"Well, we hope that with this pattern we can answer the public criticism so far to avoid people who are going to go on the hajj," he said.

He emphasized that the semi-military education implemented during the training was aimed at building cohesiveness, discipline, and forming a directional command. With these tasks during the Holy Land, it will be easier.

"So don't then position yourself as a pilgrim. Because a lot of things have happened before, the haji officer asks to be served instead," said Deputy Minister of Hajj DahnilAnzar Simanjuntak.

Previously, the Minister of Hajj and Umrah (Menhaj) Mochammad Irfan Yusuf emphasized that being a haj officer is a great trust of the state which is not only related to the implementation of worship, but also concerns the honor of the nation, the trust of the people, and the prestige of Indonesia.

"Every year Indonesia sends the largest number of pilgrims in the world. Because it is the orderly management and the reliable quality of officers that are the key to realizing the implementation of the hajj pilgrimage that we hope for," he said.

According to him, the face of the country is not only reflected in the work that is completed, but also in attitude, firmness, and sensitivity in serving.
