Dozens of RTs in East and West Jakarta are submerged in water, on alert for subsequent floods

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) reported that 17 neighborhood units (RT) in East Jakarta (Jaktim) and West Jakarta (Jakbar) were flooded with water levels ranging from 30 centimeters (cm) to 1.5 meters.

"We appeal to the public to remain vigilant and vigilant against the potential of flooding," said Head of the BPBD Disaster Data and Information Center, Mohamad Yohan, in Jakarta, Thursday.

According to him, the flood that submerged a number of residential areas in the two areas was caused by heavy rain that hit Jakarta and its surroundings on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, causing the water level in the Katulampa Dam to rise to Alert/Alert 3.

Then, continued Yohan, several monitoring posts also showed an increase in water discharge, causing the Ciliwung and Pesanggrahan rivers to overflow and causing 17 RT to be flooded.

Regarding the height of the water entering the residential area, he said, especially in East Jakarta, it reached 1.3-1.5 meters while in West Jakarta the average was 30 cm.

"The cause of high rainfall and flooding of the Ciliwung River and Pesanggrahan River," said Yohan.

Based on data from the DKI BPBD, the following are 17 RT in East and West Jakarta that are still submerged in flood until 07.00 WIB.

East Jakarta, there are 14 RT, consisting of:

Bidara Cina Village: 4 RTKelurahan Kampung Melayu: 4 RTKelurahan Cawang: 5 RTKelurahan Cililitan: 1 RTKetinggian: 110-150 cm

West Jakarta, there are 3 RT, consisting of:

South Kedoya Village: 3 RT Height: 30 cm

Roadways that are flooded:

1. Jalan Raden Inten II, Kelurahan Duren Sawit, Kecamatan Duren Sawit, Jakarta Timur Height: 25 cm

2. Jalan Ciledug Raya, Kelurahan Cipulir, Kecamatan Kebayoran Lama, Jakarta Selatan Height: 10 cm
