West Aceh Land Fire Spread to 50.2 Hectares

JAKARTA - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of West Aceh Regency has confirmed that the area of land that was burned in a number of sub-districts in the area has now increased to 50.2 hectares.

"Currently, the extinguishing efforts are still being carried out together with the joint team," said Acting Head of the West Aceh Regency BPBD, Teuku Ronald, as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, January 28.

The location that is currently the target of land fires is in the Johan Pahlawan District, including Suak Raya Village with an area of 10.5 Ha, Suak Nie Village with an area of 10 Ha, Lapang Village with an area of 9.5 Ha.

Then in Meureubo District, including Ranto Panyang Timur Village with an area of 2 Ha, Alue Peunyareng Village with an area of 1 Ha, Ujong Tanoh Darat Village with an area of 0.5 Ha. Then Meunasah Rambot Village, Kaway XVI District with an area of 8 Ha.

Land fires also occurred in Peulanteu Village, Bubon District, covering an area of 4.2 Ha and Blang Luah Village covering an area of 4 Ha.

Teuku Ronald said the increase in the area of land that was burned in West Aceh Regency was due to the widespread fire points, so it also added the area of land fires that occurred in the local area.

In addition, the strong wind in each location of land fires, also caused the spread of fire to quickly spread to other land, so that the area of land that is burned also increases in area.

"The teams involved in handling forest and land fires in West Aceh are currently, he said, including the personnel of the West Aceh BPBD damkar, Damkar Woyla District, Damkar Meureubo District, Damkar Kaway XVI District, Damkar Arongan Lambalek District," he said.

Then the personnel of Manggala Agni Sibolangit Dalkarhut Center of Sumatra, Kodim 0105 West Aceh, Yonif 116 Navy Guard, West Aceh Police, KPH Regional IV Aceh personnel, DLHK personnel of Aceh Province, and the community at each location of land fires.
