Housing in Tambun Sungai Angke Bekasi Surrounded by Flooding

BEKASI - A number of housing in the Tambun Sungai Angke, Tarumajaya, Bekasi Regency area were flooded with a height of 30 centimeters to 70 centimeters (cm) due to high rainfall and overflowing rivers.

The affected areas include Griya Rahmani Housing, Leticia Mansion Housing, Bumi Sakinah 2, and Villa Mutiara Mas 1 and 2 which are located in the Tambun Sungai Angke, Pahlawan Setia, Tarumajaya areas.

"The water level in the Griya Rahmani and Leticia Mansion Housing is around 30-60 centimeters (cm) which causes some residents of the housing to evacuate to higher places," said Luki, who is also a resident of the Leticia Mansion Housing, as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, January 27.

As of Tuesday afternoon, the flood had not receded and disrupted people's activities.

The flood occurred due to the increased water discharge of the river which crossed the Tambun Angke River area.

The overflow of water flooded the residents' main road access with a height ranging from 30-60 centimeters (cm), so that both two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles are difficult to pass.

"I also hope for assistance from the local government to be able to relieve flood victims," he said.

Meanwhile, one of the residents of Villa Mutiara Mas 2 Ferry Wantono Housing said the water level in his housing ranged from 30 to 45 centimeters (cm) in several points.

He said the flood conditions in the Villa Mutiara Mas 2 Housing were higher than in 2021.

"In 2021, the water level reached 20 centimeters (cm). The five-year cycle of flood conditions is higher. If the residents' houses that have been flooded up to 80 centimeters to 100 centimeters (cm) are not flooded now. Meanwhile, residents' houses that have not been flooded are now flooded with water levels of around 30 centimeters (cm)," he said.

He hopes that the attention of the Villa Mutiara Mas 2 Housing developer will be given to creating a sewage channel from Villa Mutiara Mas 2 Housing to a larger neighborhood channel.

"With the drainage channel, the flood conditions in the Villa Mutiara Mas 2 Housing quickly receded and the condition of the Housing in the future is free from flooding," he said.

Ferry also hopes for attention from the local government to provide assistance in the form of food packages, fast food, medicines, and others.

Meanwhile, residents of Tambun Sungai Angke Sa'an said the water level in the residential area of residents around the Attaqwa Mosque Tambun Sungai Angke was around 30-60 centimeters (cm).

"Around the Attaqwa Mosque in Tambun Sungai Angke, the average water height is above the knees of adults. Yes, about 50 centimeters (cm)," he said.

Due to the flood, several schools around the Tambun Sungai Angke area, such as SMP Attaqwa 13 and SDIT Samba Taruma, carried out online learning.
