JAKARTA - Forensic doctor from Mataram University, West Nusa Tenggara, dr Arfi Syamsun revealed the cause of death of Brigadier General Muhammad Nurhadi at the next hearing of the murder case of the police officer at the Mataram District Court.
Arfi Syamsun explained that he had an autopsy on the body of Brigadier General Muhammad Nurhadi at the request of the NTB Police investigators on May 1, 2025.
"That was about two weeks after the incident. I conducted an autopsy from the exhumation process from May 1, 2025," he said as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, January 22.
Arfi Syamsun shows the autopsy data of the body of Brigadier General Muhammad Nurhadi in front of the panel of judges headed by Lalu Moh. Sandi Iramaya.
Diamemeriksa luka-luka yang ada di sekujur jasad anggota Bidang Propam Polda NTB tersebut, baik yang nampak dari luar maupun daalam jasad.
"The wounds I saw from the outside examination were bruises and there were bruises," he said.
For internal examination, Arfi Syamsun examined the victim's brain and lungs, considering that Nurhadi had drowned at the bottom of a small pool before he was finally declared dead.
Arfi said there were findings of fatal wounds that were suspected to have caused Nurhadi's death, namely bleeding in the back of the neck and broken tongue.
"If the brain is like porridge, it is thick black. There is water absorption in the lungs, if the ribs are normal," he explained.
Arfi conveyed this based on the results of sample tests taken on all internal organs by referring to the results of the first autopsy.
"I took lung samples, brain samples, kidneys, hearts, and I did the examination on campus. A week later the results came out," said Arfi.
From the results of the examination, he concluded that Nurhadi died due to the entry of water into the respiratory tract.
"I said the cause of death was the entry of water into the lungs or drowning, that's what I said," he said.
He also stated in the examination report that Nurhadi died due to acts of violence due to blunt objects on the back of the neck and head.
"The fatal thing was the broken tongue bone and bleeding in the back of the neck," said Arfi.
