Based on the report received, the victim on behalf of Pawan, aged 69 years old, a resident of Mapasan Village, West Praya District, was reported to have left home on Tuesday, January 20 at around 05.00 WITA.
Residents then found the victim's footprints and clothes on the banks of the Melau River.
"Initial searches were carried out by the surrounding community before the incident was reported to the Mandalika SAR Alert Unit to request SAR assistance," he said.
Following up on the report, on Tuesday (20/01) afternoon, the Mandalika SAR Standby Rescue Unit was dispatched to the scene and immediately coordinated with related elements to carry out search efforts around the scene with light rain weather conditions.
Until today, Wednesday (21/01) entered the second day of the search, the Joint SAR Team resumed the search of the river.
"Search efforts will be maximized by expanding the search area along the river," he said.
In this operation, the Joint SAR Team is trying its best by adding the number of personnel from the Mataram SAR Office as well as involving TNI, Polri, Damkar Lombok Tengah, BPBD Lombok Tengah, local people and other related parties.
"Hopefully today it can be found and the search will continue if the victim has not been found according to standard operating procedures," he said.
