The Palace Expresses Deep Sorrow over the ATR Plane Crash

JAKARTA - The Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) Prasetyo Hadi expressed deep condolences over the plane crash disaster and a number of disasters that occurred in various regions of the country. The statement was made on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Indonesia.

"As fellow countrymen, we share the deepest condolences for the accident that occurred on the ATR 42-500 aircraft, as well as several disasters in a number of regions in the country," said Prasetyo at the State Palace, Tuesday, January 20 night.

Prasetyo also conveyed prayers and hopes that all affected people would be given strength and could quickly pass through the difficult times due to the disaster. He hopes that the condition will improve soon so that people's activities can return to normal.

"We hope that this disaster can be overcome soon and the activities of our brothers and sisters can recover as usual," he said.

After expressing his condolences, Prasetyo then delivered a government announcement which was referred to as part of the commitment of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka in organizing and regulating natural resource-based economic activities.

He explained that the government had formed a Forest Area Regulation Task Force (Satgas PKH) through Presidential Regulation Number 5 of 2025. The task force is tasked with conducting audits and inspections of business activities in the forestry, plantation, and mining sectors.

The announcement was made during an agenda which was also attended by a number of high-ranking state officials, including Minister of Defense Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, Minister of Land and Spatial Planning/Head of BPN Nusron Wahid, Attorney General ST Burhanuddin, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, Head of BPKP Muhammad Yusuf Ateh, Head of the Indonesian Communication Agency Angga Raka Prabowo, Deputy Commander of the TNI General Tandyo Budi Revita, Deputy Minister of Forestry Rohmat Marzuki, Deputy Minister of Environment Diaz Faisal Malik Hendropriyono, Jampidsus Febrie Adriansyah, and the Chief of Staff of the TNI General Letjen TNI Richard Tampubolon.
