Prabowo Starts Official Agenda to 10 Downing St. to Meet the British PM

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto started his official agenda in London, England, by moving from the hotel where the President stayed to the British Prime Minister's Office at 10 Downing Street to meet with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

As reported by ANTARA, the presidential motorcade left the hotel location at around 12.00 London time, Tuesday, January 20.

In front of the British PM's Office, a number of journalists from the two countries have stood by to await the moment of President Prabowo's arrival. Generally, PM Starmer will welcome the state guest right at the PM's office door and the welcoming procession in front of the door will also be a photo op between President Prabowo and PM Starmer.

During the meeting, President Prabowo and PM Starmer will discuss bilateral issues between the two countries, as well as issues that are developing in the region and the world. The two leaders will also discuss strategic partnerships that can strengthen the Indonesia-UK relationship in the future.

The British Ambassador to Indonesia, Dominic Jermey, said the two countries would agree to a strategic partnership in President Prabowo's meeting with Prime Minister Starmer.

The partnership includes cooperation in the fields of defense and security, economic growth, anticipation of the impact of climate change, energy, and the environment.

On a separate occasion, still within the scope of President Prabowo's visit, Indonesia and the United Kingdom also launched an Economic Growth Partnership in London, England, Monday (19/1), which aims to strengthen economic cooperation in various strategic sectors.

The partnership was signed by Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto, representing the Indonesian Government and the UK Minister for Business and Trade Peter Kyle.

President Prabowo arrived in London, England, since Sunday (18/1) evening after departing from the TNI Air Base (Air Base) Halim Perdanakusuma, Jakarta, on Sunday afternoon. In London, President Prabowo was accompanied by a number of state officials, including Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto, Foreign Minister Sugiono, Minister of Forestry Raja Juli Antoni, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.

After meeting with PM Starmer on Tuesday afternoon, President Prabowo is scheduled to continue his journey to Lancaster House in London to meet with British Deputy Prime Minister David Lammy. Then on Wednesday (21/1), President Prabowo is scheduled to meet with King Charles III.
