Lukashenko says only Russia and Belarus will help Ukraine after war

JAKARTA - Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has confirmed that only Russia and Belarus will have an interest in Ukraine's future in the post-war era.

President Lukashenko said this while speaking at a meeting with Kirov Region Governor Alexander Sokolov, stressing that a resolution to the conflict was in sight.

"We will finish the war," he said confidently, as reported by TASS (20/1).

"This opportunity is greater than ever, regardless of how great the current resistance of Ukraine is," he continued.

Furthermore, President Lukashenko urged the Ukrainian people to realize that this issue is not just about territorial disputes.

"People will decide where they need to live. The territory itself does not determine anything. Ukraine must understand this - instead of destroying thousands of lives every day and forcing millions of people to flee, this must be the main consideration," he explained.

President Lukashenko also warned Kyiv, after the special military operation ended, that its current international partners would most likely not offer assistance.

"No one but us will support Ukraine in the post-war period," he said.

President Lukashenko predicted that the Uncle Sam's country "will shift its focus to Iran, Yemen, or Taiwan and completely ignore Ukraine."
