BANDA ACEH - The Aceh Emergency Disaster Response Post confirmed that the unexpected spending funds (BTT) in handling the Aceh disaster amounted to Rp. 6 billion were not intended for ASN volunteers of the Aceh government who carried out social service some time ago.

"The BTT budget of more than IDR 6 billion that is widely discussed is not intended for ASN, but for volunteers who are officially registered with the Aceh Disaster Management Agency (BPBA)," said Aceh Disaster Emergency Response Post Spokesperson, Murthalamuddin, in Banda Aceh, Monday, January 19.

This statement was made by Murthalamuddin to clarify the issue that has developed in the community regarding the use of BTT in handling disasters in Aceh.

"The funds are for volunteers who have registered with BPBA, both personally and through organizations. Not for ASN, and not for ASN volunteers who go to the disaster site twice," he said.

He explained that the volunteers had previously volunteered when BPBA opened volunteer registration to help handle disasters.

Therefore, he asked that the information not be twisted into a wrong issue in the midst of an emergency situation.

In addition, Murthala also clarified the issue regarding the submission of a house rental with a value of IDR 1.1 million per day which had caused a controversy on social media. The figure is only a preliminary submission and has never been realized.

"That is a submission data that turned out to be wrong. When reviewed, the error was found and immediately rejected. It has not been paid and there is no budget used for it," he said.

Murthala emphasized that, to date, there has been no payment related to the rental of the house. The budgeting process is still waiting for revision so that it is truly in accordance with the needs in the field.

He appealed to the public to be more careful in responding to and disseminating information related to disaster management, as well as the importance of tabayyun or clarification before sharing information to the public.

"We are in a state of disaster. The existing shortcomings should not be used as a tool to destroy credibility and damage disaster management work," he said.

He reminded that the spread of incorrect information not only harms the relevant institutions, but can also tarnish Aceh's image in the midst of many parties' attention to disaster management in the region.

He hopes that the people of Aceh can work together to maintain a conducive atmosphere, support disaster management efforts, and not participate in spreading hoaxes that have the potential to hinder the recovery process.

"We are very open to be confirmed. Please ask us or the relevant services before spreading information. Don't let data that hasn't happened or false information actually damage public confidence," said Murthalamuddin.
