JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya menegaskan bahwa Eggi Sudjana (ES) dan Damai Hari Lubis (DHL) tidak lagi berstatus tersangka dalam kasus dugaan ijazah palsu mantan Presiden Joko Widodo. Oleh karena itu, keberadaan Egi Sudjana di Malaysia disebut tidak melanggar aturan pencekalan.

Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Budi Hermanto explained that the revocation of the suspect status was carried out after the two parties went through the restorative justice (RJ) justice mechanism.

"This is based on the agreement of the two principals, where the two suspects submitted a request for restorative justice to the reporter," Budi told the media at the Polda Metro Jaya, Monday, January 19, 2026.

The RJ application was officially submitted on January 14, 2026, then a trial was held attended by investigators, investigators, Bidpropam, Irwasda, and Bidkum Polda Metro Jaya. As a result, said Budi, on January 15, 2026, investigators determined the resolution of the case through restorative justice.

"This restorative justice is regulated in Perpol Number 8 of 2021, which aims to restore the condition of the victim and the suspect to the initial condition before the case," he said.

With the approval of the RJ, the status of the suspect against ES and DHL was officially revoked, including the previous sanctions, prevention, and countermeasures.

"We repeat, the status of the suspect has been revoked and the suspension has also been revoked, so his condition is back to what it was before the report," said Budi.

He also denied allegations of selective treatment in handling this case.

"If there is a statement that this is a selective one, it is not true. The statement comes from a party that does not understand the legal mechanism in its entirety," he said.

Although the first two cluster suspects have received RJ, the Polda Metro Jaya has ensured that the legal process against other cluster suspects continues, including the plan to examine the other three first cluster suspects which is scheduled to take place this month.

It is known that the 45-second video shows the figure of suspected activist Eggi Sudjana driving a luxury car alone in the neighboring country of Malaysia. Later, Eggi Sudjana was in Malaysia for treatment related to the disease he suffered from.

Eggi Sudjana's lawyer, Netty, confirmed that the person who brought the car called luxurious was his client. According to him, Eggi's departure to Malaysia was carried out after the letter of termination of investigation (SP3) was issued. Egi is said to have departed on January 16, 2026.

Upon arrival in Malaysia, he was picked up without using a wheelchair, unlike his condition in Indonesia who often use wheelchairs for convenience and cost reasons.

"Yes, Mr. Eggi can walk, can drive, but the cancer is in the intestines, he was picked up by his nephew who works at Samsung so when he filled up the gas he wanted to try (the car) because Bang Eggi can go to the mall, he never played the road. his pain," he said.

"We're not lying, Bang Eggi left as soon as SP3 came out, Bang Eggi went to Malaysia on January 16 until he was picked up there he didn't use a wheelchair, he walked. Here you don't pay for a wheelchair, there you pay. Just walk," he continued.

Netty admitted that he had confirmed directly to his client.
