Head of the Tanjungpinang SAR Office Fazzli said the body of the victim named Sakaria Jerianto (23) was found on the second day of the SAR Operation on Sunday, January 18, 2026, at 16.40 WIB.
"The victim was found dead. The location where the victim's body was found was approximately 0.8 Nautical Miles (NM) from the location where the victim fell," said Fazzly, ANTARA.
After being evacuated from the sea, the victim's body was then taken to the Bhayangkara Hospital of the Riau Islands Police for autopsy and returned to the family.
The search for the victim has been carried out since Saturday, January 17, 2026, involving a joint SAR team from the Tanjungpinang Search and Rescue Office, Batam SAR Post, Batam Police, KPLP, VTS Batam, Ditpolairud Polresta Barelang.
