JAKARTA - The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) has completed the construction of temporary housing (huntara) for victims of flash floods accompanied by landslides in Manyang Cut Village, Meureudu District, Pidie Jaya Regency, Aceh.

BNPB Expert Agus Marsanto in a statement received by Antara, in Jakarta, Saturday, January 17, said that as many as 10 huntara house kopel which were intended for 50 families (KK) had been completed and ready to be handed over to the local government.

"The construction of the huntara was previously carried out since January 1, 2026 on an area of about 2,000 square meters involving local companies," he said.

BNPB confirmed that each huntara unit had been equipped with basic needs support facilities, including an electricity network from PLN and the availability of clean water through the construction of boreholes.

Agus said that the huntara was intended for residents whose houses were severely damaged by the disaster. In addition to providing huntara, the government also distributed the Waiting for Housing Fund (DTH) assistance for affected residents who did not occupy temporary housing.

Technically, each huntara unit has a building size of 3.6 meters x 4.8 meters, a bathroom measuring 1.2 meters x 1.2 meters, and a terrace measuring 1.2 meters x 3.6 meters.

In addition to the 10 barracks that have been completed, BNPB is also planning to add 13 huntara houses for 65 households with a current development progress of around 20 percent.

Agus hopes that the existence of the huntara can become a safe and decent temporary residence, as well as supporting the recovery process of the lives of people affected by disasters.

BNPB together with the local government, he said, is ready to accelerate the provision of temporary housing in Pidie Jaya Regency with the target that the affected people will have occupied the huntara before February, which coincides with the Holy Month of Ramadan.
