Former Head of North Bengkulu Mining Becomes Corruption Suspect

BENGKULU - The Bengkulu High Prosecutor's Office investigation team has named the 14th suspect, Fadillah Marik, former Head of the North Bengkulu Regency Mining and Energy Office in 2007, in connection with the coal mining corruption case committed by PT Ratu Samban Mining.

"This activity (the appointment of a suspect) is a post-search of the Bengkulu Provincial Energy and Mineral Resources Office (ESDM) and the suspect's house SA by securing a number of files and documents, then developed, the suspect was appointed," said Assistant Intelligence (Asintel) of the Bengkulu Attorney General's Office David Palapa Duarsa accompanied by the Head of the Investigation Section of the Bengkulu Attorney General's Office Pola Martua Sirega reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, January 14.

He said that the determination of the suspect began in 2007 when the North Bengkulu Regent issued a North Bengkulu Regent Decree Number 327 of 2007 concerning the approval of the transfer of mining exploration authority from PT Niaga Baratama to PT Ratu Samban Mining on August 20, 2007.

Then, the decision of the North Bengkulu Regent number 328 of 2007 regarding the approval of the transfer of mining, transportation and sales power of PT Niaga Baratama to PT Ratu Samban Mining on August 20, 2007.

David explained that the issuance of the two decisions by the regent was contrary to the regulations of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Decree Number 1453.K/29/MEN/2000 concerning technical guidelines for the implementation of government tasks in the field of general mining.

Then, the North Bengkulu regional regulation number 2 of 2002 concerning the management of the general mining sector without being accompanied by recommendations from the Mining and Energy Agency based on technical and administrative considerations as well as the results of field research carried out by the team.

A number of funds were also found to have flowed from the suspect to 13 cases of corruption in the coal mine of Sonny Adnan amounting to Rp. 600 million to enforce the decision of the regent.

"The suspect was immediately detained at the Bengkulu Class II B State Prison for the next 20 days," said David.

Previously, the Special Criminal Investigation (Pidsus) of the Bengkulu High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) carried out a forced attempt, namely a search at the Office of the Provincial Energy and Mineral Resources Office (ESDM) of Bengkulu Province and the house of the 13th suspect, namely Soni Adnan (SA) who was in the village of Kampung Bali, Kota Bengkulu.

The search at the Bengkulu Provincial ESDM office and the house of the former Director of PT Ratu Samban Mining (RSM) Soni Adnan was carried out in connection with the case of corruption in the coal mining of PT Ratu Samban Mining with a total state loss of Rp. 1.8 trillion.

In addition, in the coal mining corruption case, the Bengkulu Prosecutor's Office has determined 12 people who are currently undergoing trial, namely Commissioner of PT Tunas Bara Jaya Bebby Hussy, General Manager of PT Inti Bara Perdana Saskya Hussy.

Director of PT Ratu Samban Mining Edhie Santosa Rahardja, Head of Branch PT Sucfindo Bengkulu Iman Sumantri, President Director of PT Tunas Bara Jaya Julius soh, Marketing Director of PT Inti Bara Perdana Agusman, Director of PT Inti Bara Perdana Sutarman.

Furthermore, Commissioner of PT Ratu Samban Mining David Alexander Yuwono, Head of Mine Inspector of ESDM for the period 2022 to 2024 Sunindyo Suryo Herdadi, Head of Mine Inspector 2024 Nazirin, Awang brother Bebby Hussy, and Andy Putra brother Bebby Hussy.
