Mass Shooting in Three Points of West Point, USA, Six People Dead

JAKARTA - Armed violence rocked eastern Mississippi, United States, Saturday, January 10, local time. Six people were reported dead in a series of consecutive shootings that occurred at three different locations in the city of West Point, an area that borders directly on the state of Alabama.

Local security authorities acted quickly by securing a suspect shortly after the incident. Clay County Sheriff Eddie Scott confirmed that the perpetrator is currently in custody and there is no longer an immediate threat to the surrounding community.

"A number of innocent lives were lost as a result of this violence. We ask the public to pray for the victims and their families," Scott said in a statement.

The police are still closing the identity of the perpetrator and the victims for the sake of investigation. The crime scene (TKP) was intensively carried out in three locations of the shooting to map the relationship between the cases.

So far, the motive behind the mass shooting has not been revealed. The Clay County Sheriff's Office is scheduled to hold a further press conference to expose the chronology of events and details of the arrest of the suspect to the public.
