JAKARTA - Ari Wijaya (25), a crew member (ABK) who was lost and drowned in the sea at the Muara Baru Port Wharf, Penjaringan, North Jakarta, was finally found by a joint SAR team on Saturday, January 10, 2026, afternoon.

However, unfortunately, the victim named Ari was found dead. The ABK of the Prima Hasil Samudera KM was found after a search was carried out since Saturday morning.

The victim's body was found at around 15.20 WIB after the joint SAR team found the victim's body floating on the surface of the water at a radius of 5 meters from the location of the victim's drowning point.

The SAR team then evacuated the victim's body into a body bag. Then after being on the pier, members of the Muara Baru Police carried out identification of the body.

From the statement of Dantim Basarnas, Aulia Sholihanto, previously the search effort was carried out by searching with a rubber boat around the location of the incident.

"This afternoon we also conducted a diving process around the scene, but it has not yielded results because visibility is limited. However, this afternoon the victim appeared on the surface and was immediately evacuated," Aulia told reporters, Saturday, January 10, 2026.

Meanwhile, the joint SAR elements involved in the search for the ABK victim are composed of the Jakarta SAR Office, Muara Baru Police, Polairud Polda Metro Jaya, Bakamla, and others.

Previously reported, a crew member named Ari Wijaya was reported missing after being thrown into the sea at the east pier of Muara Baru Port, Penjaringan, North Jakarta.

Until Saturday, January 10, 2026, in the morning, the victim was still being searched by joint officers at the location and its surroundings.

"Until now, the search has been carried out by personnel from the Muara Baru Police, Basarnas, Bakamla," said the Tanjung Priok Port Police Chief, AKBP Aris Wibowo when confirmed, Saturday, January 10, 2026.

The Police Chief explained that the search process for the ABK victim using a rubber boat had three stages of search methods, namely using visual, using anchors, and diving.

The Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Muara Baru Police, Ipda Fauzi Widi, said based on witness testimony, before he was drowned, the victim had planned to take a bath near the front bow of the ship.

"Based on the witness's statement while standing in front of the door of the engine room, he saw ABK Ari after waking up in the captain's room on the 2nd floor, going down the stairs on the left to the front of the ship."

"The victim took off his clothes to take a shower by opening the lid of the shelter for clean water, then the victim slipped and fell," said Ipda Fauzi when confirmed.

When he saw the victim being thrown, the witness, initials M, who saw it then ran to the middle to pick up the rope tied to the front bow of the boat.

However, efforts to help the victim by throwing a rope into the sea pool were too late. The victim had drowned in the sea and was lost from sight.
