Landslides to Broken Bridges Occurred in Pati

Pati Regency, Central Java, experienced a landslide disaster and a bridge that connects Gunungwungkal and Cluwak Districts was cut off, after being hit by heavy rain.

AKP Sukarno, head of the Gunungwungkal Police, said that the landslide and bridge break occurred on Friday (9/1) evening, in Jrahi Village. The landslide material closed the road access along approximately 30 meters in the local village.

To reopen the road access, the joint team together with the community cleaned the road from landslide material.

A similar incident also occurred in Jepalo Village, where landslide material fell on the houses of local villagers.

Meanwhile, the 12-meter-long bridge that collapsed occurred in Dukuh Kedungsewu, Giling Village, due to the strong flow of the river. Thus, the access of residents between Giling Village, Gunungwungkal District, and Salak Village, Cluwak District, was temporarily cut off.

The case of a fallen tree was also in Dukuh Sekar along with a landslide that hit a house belonging to local residents. The fallen tree was evacuated in a mutual aid, while the house affected by the landslide was safe from casualties.

A landslide also occurred in Gunungsari Village, Tlogowungu District on Friday (9/1) at 20.45 WIB and had an impact on the interruption of the district road access connecting Tlogowungu District to Gunungwungkal.
