JAKARTA - A garbage truck crashed into a concrete lane divider or busway separator of the Transjakarta in the area of Jalan MT Haryono, South Jakarta (Jaksel), on Friday morning. As a result, traffic flow experienced a long jam.
The Directorate of Traffic of the Polda Metro Jaya said the incident occurred due to the driver who was less careful while driving the truck.
"It is suspected that the driver of the garbage truck with the initials RTP, number B 9244 TOR, was less concentrated and less careful (asleep) so that he hit the busway separator or lane-divider concrete," said Head of the Traffic Police's Traffic Safety Division, AKBP Ojo Ruslani, Friday, January 9, 2026.
He explained that the accident started when the garbage truck was traveling from east to west on Jalan MT Haryono, South Jakarta.
"Around 05.30 WIB, upon arrival at the crime scene (the scene of the crime), namely in front of the Bukopin Building, the vehicle hit the busway separator or busway lane barrier concrete," said Ojo.
As a result of the accident, he said, the truck was damaged, but there were no casualties.
"The vehicle suffered damage to the front wheel, the front bumper was dented," said Ojo.
