BADUNG - The Regent of Badung, Bali, I Wayan Adi Arnawa held a meeting with the Consul-General of Australia in Bali Jo Stevens to discuss plans for the construction of the Peace Museum.

"The construction of this museum is one of our forms of respect for the victims of the 2002 Bali Bomb humanitarian tragedy," said Regent Adi Arnawa in Mangupura, Thursday, January 8.

He said the Badung Regency Government was committed to supporting the development of the Peace Museum, which was inspired by the terrorism incident.

According to him, the museum will later be built as a memorial room to commemorate the Bali Bombing incident as well as a symbol of peace.

"We have also allocated a budget for the construction of the museum in 2026 as a form of real commitment," he said.

Regent Adi Arnawa explained that in the future the Peace Museum is also expected to become one of the historical and educational destinations in Badung Regency.

The plan is for the Bali Peace Museum to be built on an area of 15 acres and equipped with a basement by adopting the concept of "Samsara" or being born, living and dying.

The museum will be built next to the Bali Bomb Monument on Jalan Legian, Badung, by displaying the Bali Bomb documents equipped with dioramas and auditoriums, and the back is equipped with library facilities.

Australian Consul-General in Bali Jo Stevens expressed his appreciation to the Badung Regency Government regarding the provision of land support for the planned construction of the Peace Museum.

He admitted that he was very happy and welcomed the plan to build a Peace Museum this year.

"We are grateful and fully support the construction of the museum as a symbol of friendship and a reflection of history," said Jo Stevens.
