Challenge Forensic Test After Being Accused of Being False, Roy Suryo Shows S1-S3 Degrees

JAKARTA - Former Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Roy Suryo confirmed that all his educational diplomas, from level one (S1) to level three (S3), were original and valid. He even challenged those who accused him of using a fake diploma to conduct a forensic test in public.

Roy Suryo made the statement after reporting seven people to the Metro Jaya Police regarding alleged defamation.

"This is my S1 diploma from Gadjah Mada University (UGM), it has a legal status. Please take a photo, please analyze. Do you want to test ELA, luminance and gradient, please," he told the media, Thursday, January 8, 2026.

Roy explained that he had studied at the University of Gadjah Mada for his undergraduate and graduate degrees. The master's degree he holds is a Master of Health (M.Kes). While his S3 education was completed at the State University of Jakarta (UNJ) in four years.

"My S2 degree is also from UGM, and my S3 is from the State University of Jakarta. Everything is there, everything can be tested," he said.

According to Roy, the accusation of a fake diploma against him is a slander that was deliberately thrown to reverse the issue of the research he had previously done with a team of academics and activists. The research, said Roy, is related to the alleged authenticity of the diploma of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo.

Roy assessed that if he really wanted to be open and a statesman, the controversy over the degree should be resolved simply.

"If you want to finish, just show the certificate. The public can see and test it themselves. Ask UGM, to the State University of Jakarta, please," he said.

In the police report he made, Roy said there were two clusters of allegations, namely the allegation of a fake diploma and the allegation of his involvement in the Hambalang project corruption case. He ensured that both allegations were unfounded.

"These accusations are lies and slander. Therefore, I will take legal action," he added.

Roy also said that the initials of the seven people he reported were A, B, D, F, L, U, and V. All the evidence in the form of screenshots, links, and transcripts of the reported statements has been handed over to investigators.

"Just be ready to receive a call from the Polda Metro Jaya. There's no need to be like a hot worm, you're already wearing a prisoner's shirt," he concluded.

Previously, Roy Suryo reported seven people suspected of being supporters of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to the Polda Metro Jaya for alleged defamation and slander, related to the possession of a fake ijzah and involvement in the Hambalang case.

Roy said the report was made on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, then at the Integrated Police Service Center (SPKT) of the Polda Metro Jaya and has been registered with the number STTLP/B/114/I/2026/SPKT/POLDA METRO JAYA.

He explained that the seven people reported were called with the initials A, B, D, F, L, U, and V. The complete identities of the reported persons along with evidence, screenshots, links, and transcripts of statements have been submitted to investigators.

According to Roy, the report was made because he was accused of having a fake diploma, ranging from S1, S2, to S3 levels. The accusation, said Roy, was a form of slander and defamation.

"I have an S1 and S2 diploma from Gadjah Mada University and an S3 from the State University of Jakarta. All of them are original and can be tested for validity," he said.
